The Ole Miss Equestrian Club welcomes English and Western riders of all levels. Ownership of a horse is not required as riders learn to adapt to a variety of horses which is a key component of IHSA competitions. Horses and tack are available at our English and Western riding facilities, as well as at all competitions that we attend.
Members are required to attend all Equestrian meetings, community service, and fundraiser events to remain in good standing. Competitions are held at other universities in our IHSA region and zone. Members should lesson at a minimum of once per week. Team dues are $200 per semester and lessons are $585 per semester which covers weekly lessons for 13 weeks. Additional lessons are available and billed separately. Transportation to and from lessons and competitions are done as a team in private cars.
Members are not required to compete, but are encouraged to attend competitions either way. Competitions vary each semester and riders are not guaranteed to compete at each event. All participants will be made aware in advance if they are competing at an upcoming show. Again, riders of all abilities participate in competitions against riders of their same level.
